This book, (which has already received rave pre-publication reviews locally and nationally), explores and confronts the basis of this poverty and offers a genuine route out of it.

OUR MISSION

Our
Mission

We live in a city with more children than any other European city. We have 460,000 children living in Birmingham. We have 440 schools and dozens of universities / colleges with billions of pounds of incoming investment, yet we also have highest infant mortality and obesity rates in the UK and at least 30-50% of our children living in poverty.

Sadly, there is no escape that Birmingham's political, business, faith and community leadership is FAILING many of its own children.

We are a local campaigning group which seeks to encourage everyone living and working in Birmingham to help make our city the best and safest place for ALL children to grow up in by actively campaigning for the following 3 aims to:

1. Encourage all local politicians and community leaders to actively promote Birmingham as 'Child Friendly City'.

2. Encourage all local business, faith and community leaders to promote all Birmingham Children's as the  here, now and future of our city.

3. Ensure that all local elected officials and publicly funded bodies (statutory, voluntary or private) are held to account for their action and inaction in promoting the best interests of all children living in Birmingham.

We will do this by:

a) Constructively challenging local politicians, agencies and businesses.

b) Celebrating, recognising and publishing all positive contributions which reflect some / all of the above aims.
